Located on the Southern tip of Africa lies the Republic of South Africa. As South Africa is the 6th most bio diverse country in the world, a visit should most definitely include watching some of the wildlife. The best way to do this is by going on a safari in one of it’s 600 national parks.

Safaris come in many forms. You can be completely isolated, hit the main attractions along with the other tourists, tour your own rental car or join a guided safari. There are low budget options available as well.

The two main parks for safaris are: Kruger National Park and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi. Kruger Park is het most famous one and can get very crowded at times. You can find pretty much every African animal here. You can stay in a bungalow or a cottage in busy compounds or at an isolated campsite.

Hluhluwe-iMfolozi is located in the heart of Zululand. Its known for its many hiking trails, some of which include multiple day itineraries and camping in the bush. Some of South Africa’s best beaches are along the nearby Elephant Coast, so you can combine wildlife watching and relaxing on the beach.
