How I Decided To Quit My Job And Travel the World

Travel the World Airbnb

In 2010 I left my finance job in Chicago to fulfill a life-long dream: to travel the world full-time. It was not an easy decision, I gave up a very lucrative career and I had no idea what would happen and what I would end up doing.

I took the leap anyway as I didn't want to grow old with regrets, knowing I had never taken the chance to live the life I wanted to live.

So I took off to Brazil and never looked back. It was the best decision in my life. Want to know more? Watch this short video to find out!

I like how you are not delaying your retirement. As Tim Ferriss would say, you're taking 'mini-retirements' everywhere you go, as you back it up with a sustainable income stream. Nice!

Very true Rahul, the tradition model of working a job that you don't like for 40 years and then spend the rest of your life doing nothing doesn't make sense to me at all.

Very inspirational - the "no regrets" attitude is exactly how everybody should live their life.

I believe it wasn`t an easy step to be taken but obviously it was worth it! I still need more time to bring this change in my life and start everything all over again. I would be really happy,to be honest,if the fate loves me as much as it loves you!

It's never to late Erica!

Interesting story indeed. I'm glad that you have the chance of doing all that exciting things you've mentioned in your video 🙂 However, there's something that still bothers me - whether or not you have a mortgage and what is your house's location? I've heard many cases where people rent off their homes and thus manage to cover their mortgages down payments. You said though you make two-three times that amount. That sounds quite astonishing, even for Airbnb. It'd be great if you make another video of explaining us some successful Airbnb strategies...)

Hi Suzy, that's right I'm making two to three times more, and I'm not the only one! I have another blog where I share my Airbnb strategies, check it out: http://getpaidforyourpad.com
